We can rejoice, as the world is opening up and many of us are returning to the office. Since it has likely been a lengthy hiatus for many of you, we’d like to do our part in your success!

Most of our commute can prepare us for the hours ahead or help us wind down after a long day of work. While your favorite music will always be an option, we like to turn to podcasts for enrichment, entertainment, or both.

Today, we’ve compiled a shortlist of our favorite podcasts right now– read on to add an episode to your queue!

Here are 4 Must-Listen Podcasts for a Better Commute to Work:

If you’ve been around at Leadology for some time, you know we firmly believe that you can never go wrong with Brené. As a prolific author, Brown’s latest podcast is based on her bestselling book, Dare to Lead. #1 on the New York Times and Wall Street Journal bestseller lists, her book has become “the ultimate courage-building playbook for leaders at every level,” all of which is relayed seamlessly through a mix of solo episodes and conversations with top thought leaders. Leadership wisdom from one of our favorites? Count us in!

With humble beginnings at the very start of the pandemic, Brené Brown’s “Unlocking Us” has grown in immense popularity over the past two years, and we continue to turn to it for emotional intelligence insight. Brené herself describes this project as “real, unpolished, honest, and [reflective] of both the magic and the messiness of what it means to be human.” We’re particularly fond of Brené’s conversation with The Art of Gathering author, Priya Parker. In this episode, the two of them cover real, big, and small challenges that accompany the return to the workplaces, as well as some valuable insight on how teams can reacclimate to sharing space once again.

In this provoking podcast, host Sharon McMahon, longtime government and law teacher, is usually combating “political misinformation with non-partisan facts.” Paired with leadership insight from some of the other podcasts on this list, “Sharon Says So” equips us with the information we need to be able to work in a healthy way even when we don’t always see eye to eye.

Last but certainly not least, we’ve reserved a very special spot for our “just for fun” pick. This comedic podcast brings “people from all walks of life [together] to learn about shared experiences through thoughtful dialogue and organic hilarity.” Oh, and it’s hosted by some of your favorite funny guys. Learn a lot and laugh even more? We’re listening.

Tips for Easing Our Way Back Into the Commuter Life

As you ease back into a regular commute to the office, try switching out your go-to playlist for a little more thought leadership and laugh-worthy material. We think you’ll be glad you did. We’d love for you to join the conversation with us on Instagram, where we’ve asked for the community's input to build an even bigger, better list of commute to work experiences!

Looking to further your education during your commute to work?

We recommend listening to one of our programs during your commute to the office. One of our most recent releases is the 21-Day Strengths Challenge, which is what we recommend everyone take part in when they are beginning their management training journey. Not only is it a great jumping off point, but Strengths coaching is integral to everything we talk about here at Leadology!
